Transport Hub and Wayfinding Planning

OHA has a long history of working collaboratively with architects and design teams to deliver public transport infrastructure in Western Australia. Our clients have included the Public Transport Authority of WA, Department of Transport and Main Roads Western Australia.

We have contributed accessibility advice to the design of transport hubs including bus interchanges, train stations, ferry terminals and Perth Airport. Our role has included reviewing aspects such as wayfinding as well as equitable and dignified access for all people.

Our recommendations balance the needs of disparate user groups to ensure that public transport planning is efficient, logical and inclusive for a wide range of users.

Performance Reviews

OHA works alongside building design, construction and certification professionals, and our registered Occupational Therapists expertly evaluate how access is provided.

Plan Review and Reporting

Undertaking plan reviews is a critical step to identify potential access problems early and avoid derailing project timelines and budgets.

Disability Access and Inclusion

OHA, in collaboration with our clients, often presents to Disability Access and Inclusion reference groups during the design or construction phase of a project.

Access Audits

Undertaking Disability Access Audits is OHA’s core service. We audit public buildings and facilities, commercial property and open space.

Civic and Public Infrastructure

Public open space, streetscapes, pathways and other public infrastructure are also required to meet Australian Standards of access for people with disability.
